Sami Zayn will face Kevin Owens in an unsanctioned match at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025.
General Manager Adam Pearce confirmed the news on last night’s Raw. Zayn was in the ring for the show’s first major segment, talking about his history with Owens, saying that even though KO injured his neck when he attacked Sami on the Raw after Royal Rumble 2025, he didn’t finish the job. Zayn said his neck isn’t at 100% but he is standing up and is ready to fight.
Zayn challenged Owens to a match at Elimination Chamber, which takes place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Saturday, 1 March. Pearce came out, saying that he wouldn’t book the match because medical won’t clear Sami. “I’m sorry,” he said, attempting to leave.
Sami’s words pulled Pearce back around. After Zayn appealed to him, the GM said that he couldn’t sanction the match, stop KO from wrapping a chair around Sami’s face and dragging him up the concourse, or stop Kevin hitting Sami Zayn with another piledriver. Pearce added that WWE would have to wash their hands of the match completely and Sami would need to assume the risk with no reward.
“Do you understand what I’m saying to you, Sami?” Pearce asked, triggering “Let them fight!” chants in the arena. A fired-up Zayn then said he knew exactly what taking the unsanctioned fight meant. “Give me this d*mn match,” he said, and Pearce finally consented. Owens destroyed Zayn and his neck on the 3 February Raw, hitting him with a Package Piledriver.
