Damage CTRL member IYO SKY recently took to social media to send an emotional message to her injured stablemate, Dakota Kai.

Kai, who has faced multiple setbacks in the past year, is once again sidelined due to injury. After suffering a torn ACL in May 2023, she spent nearly 10 months recovering before making her return to in-ring competition in March 2024. However, she has now sustained another injury—this time a torn meniscus—which has forced her off WWE television.

Her injury storyline was tied into a recent attack by Pure Fusion Collective, writing her off TV. WWE later confirmed that Kai would be out of action for approximately 8 to 10 weeks.

Dakota Kai on Bayley’s Influence in WWE

In a recent interview with 97.7 QLZ, Dakota Kai opened up about Bayley’s role in shaping her and IYO SKY’s WWE careers. She credited Bayley for giving them significant opportunities but also explained why Damage CTRL eventually turned against her.

“So, I am grateful to Bayley, right? She allowed me to come back to the company, she has given both IYO and I a lot of opportunities. But I think at the end of the day, if you have a parent that is a little bit too controlling of the things you do, that is how we felt. We felt like we could do a lot more without her leash on us,” said Dakota Kai.

With Dakota Kai out for the next couple of months, it remains to be seen how Damage CTRL will continue without her presence. Meanwhile, fans and fellow wrestlers, including IYO SKY, have shown their support for Kai as she embarks on yet another recovery journey.

Stay tuned for updates on Dakota Kai’s return to the ring.
